
Arts and humanities faculty are working with Huntingburg, Nashville, and Salem to bring arts performances and exhibitions to those communities, such as music, dance, and theatre; museum exhibits; lectures; creative writing; and initiatives to assist local arts groups with community development and capacity building. This initiative includes:
- IU Cinema film screenings, including pop-up events in community locations
- Department of English creative writing workshops and residencies
- Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance performances and talk-backs
- Jacobs School of Music performances in community and masterclasses in school spaces
- School of Art, Architecture, and Design Grunwald Gallery artists-in-residency programs for IU Bloomington and rural Indiana artists
- School of Public and Environmental Affairs Master of Arts Administration projects to build capacity, strategy, and sustainability of community rural arts programs
- Mathers Museum of World Cultures and Traditional Arts Indiana exhibits
