Mapping the Northwest Indiana Regional Food System

This project aims to support the development of the regional food system in Northwest Indiana by mapping the existing farmers markets, growers, and institutional buyers supporting regionally produced food. The goal is to create a database that will allow for better coordination and identify opportunities for regionally-based value-added production. Economic development organizations in Northwest Indiana will connect IU students involved with the Hoosier Community Network with growers and purchasers to provide data for a database that will be available in an updated public website.
