Wingate Walking Trail

Just off Highway 25, Wingate is a closely-knit community of 250 residents, situated within a rural area with an abundance of natural beauty in its wooded areas and open fields. The Wingate community would like to create an accessible walking trail around their centrally-located park, which is also in need of updates. The IU CRE worked with Eppley Institute for Parks and Lands to create a park plan, convening community stakeholders to identify opportunities. A fundraising course through the School of Public Health then provided support to leverage local and state funding opportunities through the Patronicity/INHCDA CreatINg Places program and other opportunities.
