Tory Flynn

Board of Advisors | Chief Sustainability Officer, Hillenbrand

Tory Flynn serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer at Hillenbrand, a publicly-traded global diversified industrial company headquartered in Batesville, Indiana. Flynn previously served as vice president of communications at Athene, a leading retirement services company in West Des Moines, Iowa and prior to that role was Hillenbrand’s Director of Communications and Public Affairs. She previously served as the spokesperson and director of communications for the Indiana House of Representatives, Government Relations for Bristol-Myers Squibb in Washington, D.C., and owned a small business that advised political candidates on marketing and communications.

She has been nationally recognized for her work with sexual assault victims and was one of two given the Outstanding Service Award on Behalf of Crime Victims in 2017. In addition to being recently named “35 under 35” by the National Alumni Association for Kappa Alpha Theta, she was also named a finalist for Indy’s Best and Brightest, selected to the Indianapolis Stanley K Lacy Executive Leadership Series, and was a recipient of the Forty under 40 award by the Indianapolis Business Journal. She was appointed by Vice President Pence to the State Workforce Innovation Council and in 2018 co-chaired a committee with Ind. Lt. Gov. Crouch to study rural affairs.

Flynn received her B.A. from the University of Nebraska in political science and Russian and a master’s degree in management from Ball State University.
