Gabriel Piser supports the center's work by developing and expanding large-scale community impact initiatives and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders. Gabriel has more than 15 years of experience working with rural communities as a researcher, educator, and consultant. Prior to joining the center, Gabriel led an educational consulting firm called Big Sky Education and Strategy. His past projects include: designing youth, community, and professional development initiatives for K-12 school districts in northeast Ohio; developing regional food systems asset maps in southern Vermont; assessing campus-wide diversity initiatives at the Ohio State University; and managing social justice-focused research and planning projects at the national level.
Gabriel holds a Ph.D. in comparative studies from the Ohio State University, an MA in philosophy from Binghamton University, and a BA in sociology from Earlham College.
