Project abstract
This working group is comprised of an interdisciplinary staff and faculty campus-coalition that partners with the Community Engagement to End Child Exploitation project. This group looks to develop multi-disciplinary, holistic approach that enhances community engagement and continues to build multi-disciplinary opportunities including practicums, internships, interprofessional practice education, Trafficking Project Echo, online modules, data sets, and intersession courses. The group consists of staff and faculty from the School of Public Health, Hamilton Lugar School, IU Police Department, Criminal Justice, College of Arts + Sciences; School of Nursing; School of Social Work, O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs; Maurer School of Law; Sociology, IU Southeast; and the Interprofessional Practice and Education Center.
Project abstract
This project focuses on increasing community engagement with individual public libraries throughout the Uplands region of Indiana.
In the first phase of the project, a listening tour is being conducted with the staff and staff-selected stakeholders of each library to learn about immediate and long-term goals these libraries have in the areas of public access, services provided, collection development, and community engagement. Additionally, a user survey will be distributed throughout the community to gather patron input.
From the gathering of this information, we will be equipped for the second phase of the project: providing individual libraries with 1. Tailored recommendations for user and library discovery of attainable resources and services, 2. Comprehensive research resources and platforms, compiled with sustainably accessible avenues and tailored specifically to the community’s needs and interests, and 3. Sustainable facilitation of community programming.

Project abstract
Community stakeholders, IU faculty, and CRE staff met to discuss opportunities using Strategic Doing methodology in order to develop a community-university collaboration regarding the promotion of community wellness. The team has decided to hold community-based, interprofessional health screenings and clinics staffed by IU students with community and faculty oversight. These community-based screenings and clinics will be offered on a regular (quarterly or monthly) basis starting this fall semester through spring 2022 around Washington County using in-person as well as telehealth technologies. Students, staff, and faculty for this initiative are from Speech, Language, and Hearing; Social Work; Nursing; Public Health, Optometry; Kinesiology/Athletic Training; Biology; Physical Therapy; Interprofessional Practice and Education Center; IU libraries, and Connections IN Health.
