Project abstract
The Integrated Resource Management class (SPH-O 305) in the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies (RPTS) will be working on a service-learning project under the auspices of the Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement. Students will develop a comprehensive plan for native species/pollinator garden(s) at the Nature Center/Pool area of Shakamak State Park. Students will study the natural resource management protocols that consider ecological and social environments. This will be done in the context of creating a plan for the development, maintenance and interpretation of a sustainable native plant and pollinator demonstration garden at Shakamak State Park.
