Hannah Jones supported the center's work by connecting community members in rural Indiana with the resources they needed to cultivate creative and educational activities leading up to and including the total solar eclipse that occurred on April 8, 2024.2024. Hannah initially connected with the center through a quality of place internship her senior year at IU, during which she drew upon her background in design, sociology, and the environment to support creative placemaking projects in Jasper, IN and Holland, IN. Hannah explored how leveraging an extraordinary natural phenomenon such as the solar eclipse could support sustainable tourism and community engagement and spur meaningful interactions through art, culture, and placemaking.
Hannah holds a Bachelor of Science in comprehensive design with a minor in environmental and sustainability studies and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Indiana University Bloomington.
