The Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement will hold an informational meeting about the Sustaining Hoosier Communities program and the community proposal process for the 2019-20 year in Switz City at the Greene County Fairgrounds meeting room on Wednesday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
The center invites Indiana communities to submit proposals for the Sustaining Hoosier Communities (SHC) program, and this meeting is an opportunity for Greene County residents to ask questions and discuss possible projects. Each year, one county is selected to partner with SHC and participate in the formation, leadership, and development of projects that address health and wellness, community resilience, and quality of place. The center matches faculty, students, and other university resources to create a team that works together to achieve the community’s vision.
“I would encourage all Greene County residents who have an idea or vision for our county to submit a project proposal form,” said Cheryl Hamilton, executive director of the Linton Stockton Chamber of Commerce. “This is an opportunity for our citizens to participate in shaping the future landscape of Greene County.”
Project proposals sheets are available at the Linton Stockton Chamber of Commerce, 151 N.W. 1st Street, Linton, for those who are not able to attend the information session on November 7.
