BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—Hamiltunes, a sing-along rendition of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 2015 musical Hamilton: An American Musical, is the product of a recent collaboration between students from the IU Jacobs School of Music and the IU Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance.

Showcasing the most popular tunes from Hamilton, the show made stops this year at the Brown County Playhouse and Salem Middle School and will perform in Huntingburg and Bloomington this spring. The IU Center for Rural Engagement collaborated with these partners to help reach new audiences in the Indiana Uplands.

The following interview features Nate Carey, a junior who took on the role of Aaron Burr, sharing his own perspectives as a performer.
