Envisioning the Crossroads: Salem of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

The Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement, in collaboration with the Programming for the Performing Arts course through the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs Arts Administration program, hosted a musical performance and art exhibit at Salem Middle School in conjunction with the Smithsonian Crossroads exhibit in Salem. Guests had the opportunity to contribute their stories and histories, memories and hopes to a facsimile quilt that represented the community of Salem with Indiana community artist Joe LaMantia. The finished masterpiece is permanently displayed in Salem at the John Hay Center.
