IDOH Food as Medicine
This initiative harnessed a food-as-medicine approach to strengthen local food systems and increase health and well-being across the Indiana Uplands region. Led by Dr. Julia Valliant of The Ostrom Workshop in collaboration with the IU Center for Rural Engagement, programs were hosted in Greene, Daviess, Crawford, Lawrence, Jackson, Orange, and Washington counties. This effort was funded by a grant from the I-HOPE initiative, a collaboration between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Indiana Department of Health, Purdue University, Indiana University, and dozens of other organizations across the state.
