This initiative was designed to create capacity in communities for placemaking work through an online course. The aim is to guide people through the process of creating placemaking projects through the following lessons: Understanding your Community, Building your Team, Tools for Working in a Community, Identifying Priorities, Creating a Committee, Creating the Design Brief, Funding Ideas, as well as teaching the fundamentals of placemaking to students of the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture, and Design. This work ultimately led to the creation of a Community Arts & Culture Guide and the formation of the Rural Placemaking Studio.
