Scalable Solutions for Common Mental Health Problems in Rural Populations
Lorenzo Lorenzo-Luaces with the IU Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences launched Scalable Solutions for Common Mental Health Problems in Rural Populations in collaboration with the Center of Rural Engagement in order to test how effective an intervention developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) for refugees in low and middle-income countries is in rural populations in Indiana. The randomized controlled trial was conducted over a 12-month period where 200 individuals with depression/anxiety were assigned to either guided self-help or unguided self-help.
