Total Solar Eclipse 2024: South Central Indiana Eclipse Experience

With support from the Simons Foundation and Regional Opportunity Initiatives, the CRE provided resources to rural communities within the path of totality to foster arts and culture-focused activities celebrating the April 2024 solar eclipse. Thirty organizations received microgrants of up to $2,000 to bring these eclipse-themed events to life. By combining dedicated staff outreach, targeted funding, and the CRE's established rural partnerships, the 2024 Solar Eclipse became a catalyst for community-building and educational engagement, highlighting its significance as both a scientific phenomenon and an opportunity for connection across southern Indiana.
