Stigma Reduction Education
In partnership with the Indiana Rural Health Association and Indiana Rural Opioid Consortium, the Center for Rural Engagement identified the importance of reducing stigma toward behavioral health issues in rural communities, because it is often a barrier to individuals seeking and accessing behavioral health treatment when needed. In response, graduate social work students facilitated community education regarding stigma reduction, with an emphasis on opioid-use disorders.
