Sustaining Rural Arts Education and Wellness

The Sustaining Rural Arts Education and Wellness (SRAEW) project developed a comprehensive multi-year approach to reaching rural communities with arts education and wellness experiences. The project leveraged existing programs of Creative Arts for Vets, Look Clubs, and Arts-based Wellness in Healthcare to develop plans that center on sustained engagement. The project was a continuation of earlier museum outreach efforts and included planning and implementation of programs that expanded from facilitation by museum staff alone to include IU students, museum staff and provided toolkits for training local teachers, librarians, and community partners.
