Arts and Humanities Residencies and Fellowships

This project developed a residency program to support emerging artists from the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design to engage with rural communities in southwest central Indiana. The project sought to reimagine the relationship between universities and rural communities using the arts as a catalyst for partnership. By placing students in communities, this program fostered strong connections, art outreach, and thought-provoking and mature work that engaged residents while providing exposure to emerging artistic practice. The Artist Residency supported the Eskenazi School's mission to advance creative activity and education throughout our state and offered students the opportunity to experience and enrich the cultural life in rural areas.
