Resilience: Inventory of Park, Recreation, and Tourism Assets and Trails Projects

Project abstract

The goal of the project was to develop a comprehensive inventory of public, non-profit, and private conservation and recreation areas, recreation and tourism facilities, and recreation programs in the Indiana Uplands. Through an understanding of these resources and the public’s access to them, the Eppley Institute was able to make recommendations for improvement to assist communities with economic sustainability, health, and quality of life. In addition, the Eppley Institute hosted a trail planning and implementation workshop for interested community members across the state of Indiana. The purpose of the workshop was to convene community stakeholders for a practical workshop focused on navigating the trail development process, building coalitions of partners, and addressing the key aspects of planning and funding trail opportunities.
